Enjoy the moment

I take realizations wherever I can get them, and I had one couple of hours ago that I feel the need to write down. It was mainly about manifestation, and something I feel might be worth spending some time to actually consider from as many perspetives as possible.

I want to move. I’m sick and tired of living on the third floor, my apartment’s too small for me, and I’d like to look at the world from another physical perspective (bottom floor).

Due to my mental health issues I haven’t taken care of my apartment very well for the last many years. It’s been eighteen years since it was last renovated. It looks like crap.

Couple of months ago, I decided to do a döstädning – death cleaning of my home. I’ve thrown out loads of garbage and have begun really cleaning. I want my outer surroundings to mirror what I feel about my inner world – and these days, I happen to like and enjoy myself.

Still, I want to move, though.

It’s not likely that my landlord will allow me to change apartments, so I decided that I want my apartment renovated (once I’m done with all the cleaning et cetera). If I can’t change apartments within the range of my present landlord, I won’t be moving at all. And if I have to stay here, I want to enjoy it.

And that’s where this realization came to life, somehow.

I want to enjoy my present moment.

And even if I’d prefer to live in my little cottage out in the forest, I can still enjoy living here. I can still have a beautiful home, and I can do whatever possible to prevent the sun to heat up my apartment to the degree it usually does.

I think the whole point is; enjoy being where you are at this very moment, instead of thinking you’ll be happy when you reach that (at the moment) unachievable goal. Enjoy what you have, instead of wanting the holy grail, constantly floating just out of reach.

This is huge, for me. I’ve always thought I’ll be happy when I have this or that – and it’s always in the future. I’ve never managed to be fully in the moment, enjoying what I actually have.

I am learning so much right now. I still haven’t been able to make contact with my power animal or any of the others, but perhaps there’s still more to learn before that happens.

Now that I have my chemo therapy behind me, and am almost done with radiation, I am immensely grateful. It’s almost morbid to be grateful for the journey, but being in front of it rather than the other way around, I find that I am learning so much that will improve my quality of life in the extreme. My mindset is shifting, and if I’m lucky, I’ll actually learn manifesting for real. That’d be so cool. ♥

And as far as manifesting goes; I hereby dare more realizations and insights to come my way. Hit me. Slap me in the face. Punch me in the stomach. Show me what life’s all about. I dare you to do that, and I’ll live it as I learn. ♥

Welcome, life.

Let’s dance, you and I. We’re going to have a blast! ♥
