The Sea Crone
At the end of my yoga practise today, I had an experience. Not a big one, but definitely worth mentioning.
I was at sea. The ocean, really, in the water. And there was a.. well, I suppose one would say mermaid, but much, much larger. And not a pretty one. Fishtail from the waist, and her face was.. not necessarily ugly, but ridden by very strong, raw emotions.
She was diving into the water over and over again, and her presence was roaring. Quite frightening being, actually. Her hair was much like Medusa’s.
What I got from her, were all of these raw feelings of a more rageful nature. I’m not sure what that was all about, to be honest.
But the strong message was – be who you are.
I choose to interpret this experience as; be who you are, do not appologize for being yourself.
If others are afraid of you, well, that’s their issue to deal with.
While she was quite overwhelming and perhaps a bit over the top, I find myself agreeing with her message.
It feels like quite the timing, considering the letting go of all agreements et cetera, that I am about to rid myself of.
And also, I like the idea of somehow identifying with such a wild, free creature like her. I would love to be a little bit more like her.
